Golden Rules for Getting a Fabulous Tan This Summer | Part 1

Hola|Hi|Aloha|Ciao|Salut|你

A tan is not only of the color -Un tan tanned hidden imperfections, unifies the tone of the skin and dislikes the difference between, let’s say, arms exposed to the sun and palm legs, not mentioning that it creates a fabulous and healthy glow. But what is the fastest, simple, healthy and natural way to tan?

Don’t forget the Sun Protection Factor (SPF)

If you think that you will tan better or faster without sunscreen, you are wrong. Tanning without protection – or even with a low SPF – will damage your skin because you are exposing it to harmful UVA and UVB rays. Skin expert Dr. Marko Lens recommends using a broad spectrum sunscreen of at least SPF30, with a 5-star UVA rating.

Reconsider tanning supplements

Although some people bet on supplements, it’s important to note that fruits and vegetables – particularly those rich in beta-carotene – can help. Include more bell peppers, cantaloupe, carrots, spinach, and kale in your diet in the weeks leading up to your vacation to help you tan. “There is increasing evidence to suggest that oral use of beta-carotene can protect the skin from UV damage,” says Dr. Lens. “Beta-carotene is an excellent antioxidant: it fights free radicals and reduces oxidative stress on the skin, thus limiting the damage caused by UV light.”

The best way to get a fake tan

Once a nightmare, self-tanning has transformed by leaps and bounds in recent years, turning a complicated and time-consuming process into something much easier. Those who do not have time (or who will not visit the beach soon) can always turn to the bottle (be it a lotion, mousse, spray or tanning water) to get the perfect tan.

The secret to achieving an even glow is in the preparation, according to tanning expert James Harknett. “Try to avoid any heavy body oils or creams in the days leading up to tanning as they can leave a barrier on the skin,” he says. “An exfoliation should be done the day before, giving the skin time to renew itself and for the DHA, the tanning ingredient, to activate evenly. Lastly, always take a cold shower before applying bronzer as hot skin can result in mottled results.
