Wedding Dresses 2021 Trends

The 2021 bridal collections are here and they are truly incredible. It has seen the resurgence of some modernized trends from previous years, which are in line with current aesthetics. Here we show you the best of these new collections.

Simple, minimalist dresses remain popular, along with off-the-shoulder bishop or balloon sleeves. However, bare backs, capes, ruffles also reign this season, as well as bridal trousers with tapered and wide legs.

Short dresses

If you are thinking of a small and simple wedding, this trend is for you. A short white dress is also perfect for all other wedding-related events such as the rehearsal dinner or the bridal shower.

Midi length dresses

This has been the preferred length for many designers: the calf-length dress, whether in full skirts or tube.

Layers

Don’t you want to wear a veil? No problem. Layer veils not only offer the same benefits of a traditional veil: visual interest and added coverage, but they are also an easy way to enhance your bridal look. You can choose a transparent minimalist cape or something more striking with lace or rhinestones.

Frills

If there’s a time to indulge your romantic spirit, that’s your wedding day, and there is nothing more romantic than this ultra-feminine ruffle detail. A ruffled skirt adds dimension to a mermaid silhouette, while a full skirt of cascading sparkling ruffles is both whimsical and modern.
The whimsical ruffles appearing on sleeves, bodices and entire skirts. Kaviar Gauche designed ruffles around the bodice of elegant minimalist dresses, while Monique Lhuillier, Ines di Santo and Marchesa opted for full skirts of cascading ruffles.

Square necklines

This geometric style flatters the collarbones and shoulders. Originally popular in the Renaissance era, square necklines have made a big comeback. This trend works for just about every wedding look – go classic with heavy satin, romantic with floral lace, or modern with crepe.

Bishop sleeves

This wedding dress trend is inspired by the 80s. A far cry from the puffed sleeves worn by Princess Diana and other brides of the fashion maximalist era, these longer sleeves that fit at the wrist and flare at the shoulders they have to do with a romantic style of good taste.

Off-the-shoulder balloon sleeves

Off-the-shoulder wedding dresses have gone from being a trend to being classics in recent seasons. This time they were fused with balloon sleeves to create a new romantic version, either in the form of long or short sleeves.

Low-cut at the back

Bare backs have been on display for a few seasons. The otherwise classic long sleeve dresses unexpectedly show skin when viewed from a different angle, a version of a sensual, modern and simple dress.

Slip dresses

Famous by fashion icons like Kate Moss and Caroline Bessette-Kennedy in the 90s, this slender silhouette is experiencing a renaissance in bridal fashion. A subtly curvy satin gown works for more formal nuptials, while a casual style with slim straps is made for a more relaxed wedding. For a more modest take on this inherently sensual trend, add a lace top or detachable sleeves.
