10 Years of La Vie en Rose Chic: A Journey Through Memories and a Special Tribute
On November 30, 2014, two dreamy teenagers decided to dive into the world of blogging. My twin sister Norlis and I, inspired by Édith Piaf’s iconic song, created La Vie en Rose Chic. At just 14 years old, we were obsessed with the idea of traveling to Paris—so much so that we gave our blog a French name, convinced that one day we’d share pictures of ourselves in front of the Eiffel Tower. That dream is still on our bucket list, but we’re sure it’s only a matter of time!
Back in the day, blogging looked very different. If you visited our blog, you’d be welcomed by a music player featuring all the trending songs of the time (does anyone else remember how cool that was?). We dedicated our posts to fashion, books, and travel—topics we were absolutely passionate about. We shared our opinions on trends, red carpet looks, and reviewed popular books like the Divergent series, which was huge at the time. Later, we explored the magical world of Harry Potter, falling in love with its fantastic stories.
But La Vie en Rose Chic wasn’t just a place to explore our interests; it became our refuge—a space to reflect on how thrilling (and sometimes challenging) growing up could be. Looking back now, this blog feels like a time capsule, preserving our thoughts, moments, and dreams over the years.
One of our favorite parts of the blog is the travel section. While Paris is still waiting for us, we’ve been lucky enough to visit many other incredible countries. From breathtaking beaches to historical cities, traveling has been a constant source of inspiration for us. And the best part? All those moments are captured in this blog. Each photo, each post about our adventures, takes us back to those beautiful memories. It’s like a living scrapbook we get to share with all of you.
Now, 10 years later, our lives have changed in many ways. We’re 24 years old and about to graduate as industrial engineers—something we never could have imagined when we started this blog. And yet, so much of what we loved back then still excites us today. We’re still passionate about books, fashion, and travel, and some of our early influences remain close to our hearts. For example, Gilmore Girls is still our all-time favorite series. It’s been such a big part of our lives that several sections of the blog are named after references from the show.
This year, we took on a new challenge: launching our Redbubble store. We design products inspired by the things we love, and unsurprisingly, Gilmore Girls has been a big focus. The most exciting part? Our Gilmore Girls-themed products are our bestsellers! Who would’ve thought that something we grew up loving would become such a special part of our creative journey?
We also couldn’t help but notice an incredible coincidence this year. We turned 24, and guess what? Gilmore Girls is celebrating its 24th anniversary, too. It feels like such a perfect alignment, reminding us how closely connected we are to Lorelai and Rory—two characters who have been with us through so many stages of our lives.
So, this post isn’t just a celebration of 10 years of La Vie en Rose Chic. It’s also a heartfelt thank-you. Thank you to everyone who has read our posts, shared this journey with us, and supported us along the way. This blog has been more than a creative outlet; it’s been an extension of ourselves, a mirror of our emotions, and a witness to our growth.
As we look to the future, we’re excited to see where life—and this blog—takes us next. If there’s one thing we’ve learned over the past decade, it’s that dreams have a way of coming true when the time is right. Paris is still waiting, and we’re ready for whatever comes next.
Here’s to another 10 years of memories, adventures, and fulfilled dreams!
With love,
Nori & Norlis
